Looking for some older ezgo custom front suspension ideas!!
Well a few years back I got a 1990 ezgo. I made a 8" front lift kit, got it running decent, and installed 22" atv tires on it. Well since then the motor died on me, and I grew to dislike my suspensions, especailly the front suspension. So I bought some yamaha grizzly rear atv shocks and I'm planning to try to fabricate them onto the front. They are off a 03 grizzly. They have a 5 position adjustable preload, and have 9.5" of travel. I'm thinking for the shocks to work properly I will need to remove the factory leaf springs, but then I will loose my lift because the lift blocks are attached to the springs. So Im looking fo ideas on how to fab. up the front end!! My idea for now is: I will remove the leaf springs and spacers. Then I will make up shock mounts that give me my proper lift hieght, then make a 4link setup to keep the front axle in place??? I looked through a bunch of lifted cart pics but I cant really see good pics of front ends. So if anyone can help me out please chime in. Thanks!!!

sorry, this is an allsport LT kit, but it should help with some ideas for the front end.

Thanks for the close up. It definetly helps with ideas of how to mount the shocks and bolt on a front sub frame! Anyone have any pics using the stock front axle?

Check out Andy's "Take your pick" for sale thread. There's a 5" drop axle in there for cheap. All you'd need to add is a 3" drop spindle to it to regain your 8".

There are photos of what you describe in the lifted and BB section, I don't know how you find them but I have seen them. Most run straight arms from under the floor by the frame, then arms from the center of the axle or frame on an angle outwards to keep it centered.
