Default possible ez-go build, i am thinking long travel, first cart ever

i have found this cart on craiglist, the owner told me last night to make any offer and he will consider it.
what i want to do is create a lifted cart. I like the look of the long travel kits best, plus I really want to do some offloading in this cart. I will be putting it out in the woods a great deal.
After a night of viewing the website that sell lift kits.
I guess my biggest question is what do you think my cost will be to install a long travel kit myself?
- long travel kite seem to be about $1000
- I figured about 600- 800 for tires and wheels

Is there any reason i should go with a regular lift kit and not a long travel?

Is there any thing else that i am missing? I am sure I will be adding other things like windshield and etc. later.

What do y'all think? Any input will be appreciated.

well this is comparing apples to oranges, but here goes

I have a 1400 lb Cushman that i put "home-made" a-arm lift. smooth up front,..kinda rough in rear. Becasue of my shocks. Its perfect for what I do, crawl around in the woods and trails,.. work in the yard. My neigbor has a Ezgo Txt with a 4" drop axle lift. After riding on his, its a smooth ride. I know this don't answer your question, either works fine. Its just what your going to be using your cart for and what kind of look your after. Oh and what your budjet lets you do.

The long travel is a much smoother ride over rougher terrain. A drop axle will see-saw over ruts whereas a long travel will let each side move independently. I had a 5 inch drop axle on my cart before but now have a longtravel by Jakes and would never go back. Hope this helps.
