Default Long Travel questions...

Hey guys! I was thinking the 7" double a-arm for my G9. I'm re-thinking of doing the Jake's LT. I was trying to see if the "other" companies make an LT kit for my cart. I know Strech and Terra is out. Does Allsports make an LT for the G9? Going back to the Jake's kit, has anyone done anything to make it "sweeter?" Maybe upgraded to progressive shocks, fabbed it for more than 8" or lifted the rear to match the front? Pictures or how-to's?

Thanks in advance to all my BGW friends!

Tonka

What size tires can be used on a G9 with the Jake's LT?

Tonka,

I swapped out the "El cheapo" chrome coilovers that comes with the Jake's LT for a pair of Fox podium shocks from a Polaris Predator 500. I did not change the valving, nor the coils, and they are a vast improvement. The weak link in the Jake's LT is the cheap shocks they provide.

In the rear, I have made no changes other than the typical Jake's 6" lift brackets and stock shocks. However, I feel that simply adding a good coilover from a UTV or an ATV would be the way to go. If you were not able to locate a coilover that was exactly the right length, fabricating something for the rear of the cart would be fairly straight forward.

Personally, I don't like the looks of the "jacked up" appearance of the typical lifted Yamaha. Therefore, adding additional lift in the rear was something I wasn't interested in. The stance of the cart looks very nice with the LT up front and the 6" lift brackets in the rear. You may feel otherwise. To each his own.

I can't comment on your G-9 as far as tire clearance. However, on my G-22 I did have clearance issues on the rear of my cart with 23" tires. I did a little trimming and I was back in business

I hope that info helps you in some way.

No wheel spacers come with any kit that I know of . I know that if you use Jakes LT you will want to space the rear out 1-1/2" to 2" to match the front. I went with 3" in the rear and 1-1/2" in the front.
Mine is raked cause some dummy(me) set his limit strap up and leveled the cart on unlevel ground. Lol
