What is the Best Electric Cart to Mod?
I'm looking to upgrade my DCS EZGO into a base cart I can upgrade. I want a cart that I can take to the hunting camp. What Year, Model and Make should I go with.
The local shop is trying to get me to go with a Club Car DS. Is that the cart I'm looking for? I have already gotten this wrong before with the DCS. I do not want to do it again. Please help. |

No need to change carts,
U can keep the cart you have and u swap out the components in it to make a series cart like I did my monster cart. This was a DCS cart and I made it into a series. 72 volts and it will go anywhere. |

Like Andy mentioned you can do this, you want to go hunting, but how much do you want to spend doing this, you can go basic or all out like Andy did. |

Re: What is the Best Electric Cart to Mod?
I'm wanting to get into a cart I can use while I work toward modifications. My cart now has a bad controller that I am replacing. I don't want to risk burning up another. I'm through with DCS but don't have the money right now to completely overhaul and convert to a series. Best option for me at this time is to sell and buy something I can work on with less fear of burning up a controller.

Re: What is the Best Electric Cart to Mod?
I personally would look for a 98- early 01 series TXT. 98 up gets you the big chunk that has a limited slip unit available and early 01 down gets you old style steering that makes a BBB front drive axle a bolt in swap. Those two factors combined with a series drive will have you on the way to a kick axe hunting rig.
