Found rear long travel kit on ebay
I’ve been wanting better traction/ride/ and movement out of my cart. I’ve decided to go to a long travel lift for the front of the cart and came across this on ebay. I know several people are building their own but I just don’t have the skills for that. I haven’t seen anyone selling this and wanted some expert opinions. It says that the kit is made by Jake’s but they don’t have anything on their web site. Thanks for any input.

Correction, just found it on Jake's web site. I would still like some input though

Re: Found rear long travel kit on ebay
Seems like I've read about guys not recommending the use of a rear seat (loaded) or pulling a trailer (loaded) with a long travel rear. Would be interesting to hear what users experiences are on this.

That would definitely be useful info. I have a cargo bed that is always loading with down and I pull my trailer a lot with my cart.

Re: Found rear long travel kit on ebay
you need stiffer rear shocks for big loads. otherwise it gets really interesting going around corners. many a day i hate my rear lift when I am doing big loads

What about using a pan hard bar? Or is a 4 link any better for the loads?

A 3 link is a 4 link but a four link uses perpendicular bars to eliminate rear end wrap and is really a 5 link if it has a Panhard bar.............. Cornfuserd yet? Most guys running 3 and 4 links on trucks use air ride to deal with the load weight problems. Shock angle, progressive rate springs and multiple shock/spring setups can help. |

Good stuff, Hoof. Judging from your build, you know all this first hand too. Love the Zombie Killer.
So air bags? Like something for a 1/2 ton truck? Or maybe air shocks? |

Re: Found rear long travel kit on ebay
Air shocks would be the best fit and the easiest to fab (and at GC weights would last forever). I do believe they have minimum and maximum working lengths so maybe some cable limiters depending on your setup. We used to do this in some apps on rock crawlers years ago............
