install used lift on Club Car?
Hi guys, I have an 88 club car and would like to lift. One of my buddies who has a few carts has a 94 club car that he no longer uses and offered to sell (practically give) me his 6" lift, 10" chrome wheels and 22/11/10 Carlisle alltrax tires.
Is there any thing that would give me trouble installing this slightly used a-arm lift? Please post any concerns or advice. I'd like to install everything Thursday if this is a viable option. |

Re: install used lift on Club Car?
CC changed Spindles somewhere in those years.... now that I think about it, I think they changed hubs and kept the same spindle? Maybe Tahoe can clarify this change ...

Thanks, if this is the case, could i pull the hubs off of his cart as well since he isn't going to be driving it anymore?

Re: install used lift on Club Car?
I think that would work. But you may not even have to do that?

I agree, it would be nice to not have to swap hubs.
I am pretty mechanically inclined, but is there anything in particular that I should know about before doing the lift? any special tools/techniques to be aware of? |

Re: install used lift on Club Car?
the hubs changed in early 2000 something
might also depend on what lift is on his cart. the only diff might be the mount that the steering rack goes on. newer carts have 3/8" holes and used 2 bolts per side for the arms. carts around your vintage should have a metal triangle sorta arm with a 1/2"shoulder bolt with 3/8" threads. other than that should work ok. |

Re: install used lift on Club Car?
update: uninstalled the lift from the donor cart on thursday and got it all assembled onto mine on friday...some parts were a pain in the neck but for the most part it was because my bolts were so freakin rusty. Couldn't be happier with the finished product, now i just need to get a picture posted!
