What lift do I have?
I bought this cart a month or so ago. I'm starting to do some repairs and maintenance on it. Trying to find out what I can about the cart.
Any ideas on this lift kit? Other than Jake's, I don't know what other brands there are. |

Re: What lift do I have?
I'm stumped! It looks like it may be a very nice one off system, or maybe parts adapted from a quad. What kind of cart is it? Yamaha?

Looks like a Yami G1. My guess would be a quad front end.

Re: What lift do I have?
G1 with a G2 Jakes/All Sports type lift kit modded to fit.
That front end is not from an atv, it's either a kit or a one off custom job. Atv's don't use heims and the main plates are definately not atv. I almost did that to mine, the G2 is so very similar and I thought it could be adapted to fit. That's my guess. |

Re: What lift do I have?
First off, I figured this is a G1 but my wife says the pink says 1985 which would make it a G2?
Definitely not a quad front end. Not stock anyways. The hubs and spindles dont seem to match and are extremely heavy. Unfortunately the studs in the hubs have been jerry rigged pretty bad so they'll need to be replaced at some point. Holding up for now though. |

Re: What lift do I have?
It looks like the A-arms may have been off of a quad originally but it looks as though the parts that come out to hold the spindle were custom made. I would guess an A-arm set-up off a quad or a small buggy that was modified to work with the cart. Looks pretty decent though from the pictures.
Were all those washers in the last picture actually on that spindle/hub assembley........wow!! |

Re: What lift do I have?
Ya, the hub is really rigged. All those washers are indeed being used. Id like to sort that out someday. Still havent had a "cart guy" look at it.
Golf Carts used to be really big out here in the 90s and early 2000s for camp cruisers in the desert. side by sides have pretty much killed the market. I got this cart for $1800. Would have easily been $4,000 8 years ago |
