Unhappy Wrong Lift? Twice!!

Hi everyone, Just wanted to check and see if I'm nuts! Please reserve your response until you have read the post.

I have ordered two jakes lift kits now for my 03' 1200 workhorse. The first kit did in fact say 2001 1/2 & up 1200 WH on the box------However, the axle does not fit my axle yolks (mine are longer by 3/4") and there is no bracket for the steering box which was mounted on the stock axle. lastly the shock towers are reversed. Wrong kit right!!---???
kit #2 received today, same exact thing from a different supplier.

So I guess my question is, aren't the newer style axle supposed to have a bracket weldment for the rack steering? and the old style steering box used to mount to the chasis? thats what Ive been told.
Second, do the newer carts have longer steering yolks?
and lastly this thing sure does'nt look like the picture on the instructions.

So am I nuts? or is Jakes screwing up?? My cart has been on blocks now for two weeks! I used to use it every day. I am a seriously P.O. ed
Any body with insight to what might be going on as I'm new to carts but have been a gearhead my whole life. I just dont get it, or am I missing something?

Thanks: Ian S

You could try and give Jake's a call, they seem very helpful.

By your description, the kit you received is for the 94 - 2001 1/2. The kit you need has to have the steering rack bracket on top of the axle. The late models have the longer king pins as yours are.

I second that. Look at your steering column bolts. I know the 94-2001 are 4 bolts in a square pattern and the newer are 4 bolts in a diamond pattern right?

Thanks for the replies guys! Turned out someone new over at jakes was in fact placing the older axles into the newer boxes. They took care of it promptly, paid for shipping both ways, and sent me a nice t shirt. It was still a major PIA but they did what they could and I respect that. Jakes still has my business. It is a quality kit, especially when it fits right.
