My EZGO limo conversion.
OK, I have finally decided to start my stretch project. I think the hardest part is not having the cart to drive. The motor blew a head gasket last time out and I decided it was telling me that its time. Over the last couple of years I have collected my welder, tube bender, lots of other misc. tools, Marvin Shaw coil over shocks, Kohler 25 hp engine and numerous other things I will try to list everything I use as I go. I hope this thread will help anyone out that is thinking of doing this themselves. If you catch me doing anything stupid pleas feel free to chime in.

Cool I like these stretch jobs,....
i'd make tube in the center to run wires to keep them hidden. Cart being longer if you go over rough terrian you may high-center, cutting wires and controls,... |

Re: My EZGO limo conversion.
That's a great idea, thanks. Ill run a tube along the frame rails instead of using that plastic black stuff. Kind of like a trailer but a bigger tube.

Re: My EZGO limo conversion.
You could always just use the frame rails for hiding the harness's. Just run it inside the frame rails, as long as it's boxed. Nothing a fish tape and a couple of drilled holes can't solve. Or you can use electrical conduit. Do a ran every foot or so and have a joint so if you needed to find a problem, just loosen a couple of screws and the joint is separated.

Re: My EZGO limo conversion.
I built some trailers and I always weld conduit to the bottom for wires. I leave the corners open just enough to pull the wire and run into the next tube. < I_ > like that touching at the corner. If it were in a place it could get hit or in the mud I might bend a corner to get out of that area. Make sure it drains any water. In the clone I did and soon in my cart I ran 2" pvc to the front for the airbox, it worked great. Simply welded a 2.5" muffler clamp to the frame to hold it and had it end under the front cowling. It is really dusty where we run. You can cut the elbows off some to make them turn corners shorter.

Re: My EZGO limo conversion.
So far I used 2 x 1 x 11GA Rectangular Tubing for the extension and along side the origional frame for added support.
The sides are made up from 2 x 1 x 3/16 channel and the cross supports are 2 x 11GA square tubing |
