On your EZGO, does the pitman arm swing right to left below the steering box? If so, you can make a drop plate for the new tie rods and use go cart swaged rods. Just look up "swaged rods", mine are alum and use spherical ends, paid like $25 each total. It's not exact, but it works pretty good. I was going to use a go cart rack and pinion unit, but too much fab required. Might still do that later though.

I used a center pull rack from latest rage (same as Empi) ... It was about $150 and made for a sandrail

I also made my tie rods out of 1" - .95 wall Chromoly ... added some nice heim joints... Double Tough!!

Lost of time and Tig Welding in my set up .. But it cycles 12" of travel with no bumpsteer and turns sweet

another option that would prolly work would be to take the steering stem off of the quad and cut it ... then put it back together with a 2 steering joints in 2 places so you can route it to the drivers side and attach a steering wheel.

Never done this before just thinking out loud of way to do it on the cheap... Then you would just need to make some wider tie rods to work with it.

What about using a Rhino steering rack?

Seems like dylan mentioned having access to an ATV boneyard in another thread.

Rack & pinion steering is what we're talking about. Lots of pics in that link.

Empi is a manufacturer who makes dune buggy & sand rail parts (search Ebay). Their rack & pinions are actually pretty inexpensive. The benefit of using a rack from a Rhino (or any UTV for that matter) is that you'd get all the tie rods too. You will still have to figure out how to mount it, and maybe even shorten/lengthen it.
