Lift Kit "Tweaking" Suggestions
I have a 1999 gas Club Car with a 6in lift. I bought the cart with the lift already installed so I'm unsure exactly what make the lift kit actually is. However, after searching around I believe this may be it:
http://www.everythingcarts.com/p-368...-82-up-ds.aspx If that is not the exact kit, then the one that is on there looks to be the same exact style setup, so you get the picture. Anyhow, I really like the height of the lift and it does seems to be built well but it seems way to dang stiff when riding off-road. When I know I'm going out on the trails I usually bring the tire pressure all the way down to 3lbs, which does help a lot, but it is still very very stiff when compared to the other carts I go out riding with. Does anyone have any tip, tricks, or suggestions on ways I can tweak or modify the setup for a softer ride on this thing? Thanks in advance for any help. EDIT: Here is a picture of the cart : Last edited by nowashburn; 09-12-2012 at 10:34 AM.. Reason: added picture |

What kind of rear leaf springs does it have on it? Stock or 4 leaf?

The kit that is on there actually came with replacement leaf springs. They can be seen here:
The rear left springs are pictured on the bottom right of the pic and the single front spring is bolted onto the a-arm setup. |

Re: Lift Kit "Tweaking" Suggestions
You might look in to replacing the shocks with something better, like a set of Fox Shox. It looks like a non-long travel A-arm lift so if price isn't much of a concern you may want to look in to replacing the lift kit with a true long travel kit. The LT kits perform far better on and off road, and you can also improve those kits with better shocks as some of us have done. You can also recoup some of the expense by selling your existing lift kit.

Re: Lift Kit "Tweaking" Suggestions
If you are going to add a rear seat, front brush gaurd, etc, other wise more weight, you may want to leave it for now. If you are going to run it like it is, then you might try removing one spring leaf from each spring set. You have three spring sets (one up front & two on the rear) each set has two spring leafs, remove one from each. Now the cart may set a little lower, but it will ride softer. It's a lot of work for a softer ride. The easiest thing to do is to add more riders.
Hope that helps |
