Lets see your home made lift
Ok guys I've done a lot of searching and seen some pretty good home built lifts so how about we start posting up some detailed pictures of what you've done.
How the lift was done, what mods were done to the tie rods, steering joints etc... I personally am interested in Yamaha G9/G2 lifts but post them all it can only make it easier for other newbies like me to find the information and get some ideas. |

Re: Lets see your home made lift
The lift was on mine when I bought it but it just uses 8" blocks in the rear. I have since welded a short section of tubing from the front of the swing arm down to the axle perch to stop axle wrap. The front is nothing more than a built up boxed in section bolted to the original swing arm attachment points. I have also since welded the box to the frame for added strength since I don't plan of taking it off. It then has a pretty thick plate between the steering arm and the tie rods. You can check my gallery for the pix.

Re: Lets see your home made lift
I couldn't find a lift kit for my 1985ish Melex 212 so ........ with a little help from some friends here at BGW I did this little 4" lift.
Basically cut the front end off and with the use of a steel plate welded it back on 4" lower. In the rear it was a simple shackle extension and automotive shocks.... |

I kinda did too, i understand why. but if someone is stupid enough to think that a small cage with no seatbelts and arm restraints is going to protect them from anything, well they probably should experiance it anyway as a good learning experiance

But even if you have a stock roof on the thing, it will keep the cart from rolling over on the passengers. I know this for a fact because my buddy rolled my first cart... and the stock roof supports kept it from going any further than the side. |
