97 TXT steering question when going off road
Good morning all! I have a 97 TXT DCS cart with old style steering. I have a Jake's drop axle 5 inch lift. I have ITP SS 10 inch wheels with 20x10 tires. The question i have is...
When I am doing some offroading and when the cart seems to articulate the steering wheel (towards me and then retracts back down to normal) Is this normal, or do I need to further examine? I have check all of the mounting bolts from the wheel to the rack. Thanks |

The steering column should never move at all. Something is loose or there is a broken weld somewhere. Who installed the lift?

Wow... with all of these experts and all I can get is "Who installed your lift?"
Any more input? |

That is NOT all you got. Have you inspected the frame rails for corrosion or broken welds?

I am guessing that, as Gornoman noted, you have a frame issue and I am guessing it is at the front end of the rocker panels. Look under the cart right where the flat floor meets the front wheel well.

Thank you! I will inspect further as you and Gornoman suggests.

Re: 97 TXT steering question when going off road
I have inspected underneath and no damage to the frame in the above noted areas. A couple of bolt that connects it to the mounting plate required a little more tightening. All else looks fine. Details to follow.
