Default long travel handling improvements

I recently acquired another cart, a 2000 ezgo with a terra toy suspension front and rear, honda 24 hp, roll cage etc. It runs nicely over rough road but handles poorly on turns. It leans excessively even when going very slowly. The front is the worse of the two and though the shocks are adjustable, they seem soft on any setting. The rear shocks the previous owner took off some atv and put them on. I called the fellow who makes the terra toys and he thought I might need a sway bar in the rear. He's currently occupied with the Baja 1000 and said he would call next week to see what he could do. Since I plan to run this mostly on the street (in Mexico, rough roads) I'm wondering the following
1) Can I lower the 7 inch lift slightly for a lower center of gravity, say to 4 inches.
2) what should I do to eliminate the excessive lean so it will drive safely on the street.

Have the same front suspension with Kawasaki Teryx front shocks... adjustable coilovers... & don't have nearly as much problem with the lean. It does lean a little at speeds over 20 mph, but it's not what I would call excessive. Might be an option for you.

Would love to see pics of the cart too.

Thanks Bill, Yes, I would've posted some pictures but the rain hit today in Oregon. The buggy seems to be in otherwise good shape and has a lot of cool stuff on it like 12 inch mags, nice roll cage and lots of little billet parts. Motor runs good, has a tiny oil leak. I'd still like to know if there is a way to lower it down a couple of inches and what I can add to the suspension to corner flatter.
I'll post a picture first clear day we get.

I was thinking something along these lines too But I have never done it so I couldn't advise on the results any more than speculation.

I have a Jakes L/T with there front shocks and progressive adj. rear coil over's. I had to go with a heaver rear coil spring and at 34 mph I don't have any issues. I do have 6 ply DOT approved tires.

Lurch, what type of tires do you have? I have 12 inch rims and would like to find some street tires with maybe a slightly aggressive tread that might improve handling.
I've been reading the threads on sway bars and I'm thinking that could help along with stiffer shocks.

I run Vision VX's 23/10.5/12's. They are great on road, dirt, grass and such. I do not get in mud and have not been in snow but I think they would hold there own. Hope this helps.
I thought and was talking about a sway bar but after changing the rear coils I don't need it, it does ride a little ruff on the hard stuff but not unbearable.

Thanks Lurch, I'll look for those tires, they sound like what I need and I'll try a shock change before the sway bar. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit of shock absorption for better stability.
Oregon Mike, I live near Ashland, Medford. Where are you located?
