Default 22" tires on stock 8" rims.......

I like a lot of tire showing and am thinking about 22" on an 8" rim. Will stock rims work? Is there enough off set? Will they rub or hit with a 5" or 6" drop axle lift? thanks for any advice!

Letting us know what cart you have would help. The stock rims work on some, not on others.I have stock rims on the front of my Marathon with 22"s,I had to shim the Right-Front out with a Flat-Washer,but other than that they clear. The rears will rub in most cases, due to suspension clearance.Hope this helps.

If its' 1995.5 or later its' a TXT.The Medalist looks similar, but has a metal-body.The TXT is plastic, and looks like my Avatar-pic.(TXT-Body/Marathon-Chassis).

Have done several searches on sponsors and other sites. And it seems that buying a package, lift kit, wheels and tires, is cheaper than lift kit, and tires, bought seperate. Who would have thought. Looking at 5" drop axle lift kit, 8" or 10" black wheels, with 22" mudders or multi purpose tires. Any suggestions on best places to buy? Some have frt pd. others have to pay frt. ect.. Any experiences would be a great help. THX

If you go offroad, the best part of 22s is you can get a lot of atv tires, atv rated not 2 ply. They are much more heavy duty and don't get punctures like lawn tires/2ply do. They are not so easy to change like lawn tires either. With alum rims you have to use a machine far as I know so you don't dent the wheels. That is the nice part about buying them mounted.

i found an awesome set of tire-bars at Harbor-Freight,they work awesome for this class of tires.I've done tire-work for over 20yrs on Heavy-Trucks,so I'm well aquainted with tire-bars!If you mount your own, don't make the mistake of Over-Lubing,such as dish-soap,you just end up chasing the wheels/tires around the garage,or chasing the bead around the rim-lip.WD-40 is one of the best lubes, and it doesn't attack or soften the rubber.I use ATV tires on every cart I build.Hope this helps.

Made the deal on 96' ezgo 36v txt series cart today.
Need to start ordering some parts for the build. My thoughts on the order of my build. Start with lift kit 5" to 6", 22" or 23" tires on 8" black rims. Next order HD solenoid and FR switch upgrade. Lastly, for now is light kit and reducer. That should pretty much takes care of my budget.
Later add a controller, brush guards, baskets, and the rest of the hunting related stuff.
Anyone see anything I'm forgetting? Wrong order of build? Any suggestions where to buy all these things? Best prices? Service? Thanks!

I woukd do the electrical upgrades before the lift. This way, when you lift it and go for those first rides you will not be stressing the OEM compnents, and will know your torque/speed results instantly.

All of the site sponsors do a great job. Some of them offer BGW discounts.

Good luck with your new cart!
