The only setback on the diesel is the low factory rear-axle gear-ratio.I would recommend a High-Speed set(6:1,8:1),since Diesels are low RPM motors(2700-3000rpm estimated max, depending on the engine),you won't get much speed with the stock 12 or so:1.But it will pull like a Freight-Train!!

And how is the GC differential supposed to stand up to many times the original thrust and load?

Wow, showin your age there.

BTW, I saw that Horsheshack died not too long ago. RIP Ron Palillo.

Heres a diesel cart build from a year or so ago...... looks like the thread died before the guy finished though.

And one that came thru here.....this is one of them that Scot mentions above, lots of build pics & video though.

One that is for sale now: Diesel golf cart yes diesel lifted - $4500 ( Olmsted Falls)

And one that was for sale a while back.

Im working on one, been slow going due to the usual (recovering from a job loss, family life, house and yard work, etc.) Its only a 10HP Yanmar single cylinder in an EZGO Marathon, but for what im building, i think it will be just what im wanting and on a budget. I keep thinking im going to do a thread on it, but havent yet.

there is a Kalamazoo speed truck thread that has a diesel in it too.
Good luck, keep us posted
