Default How did you add a winch?

Thinking about adding a winch to the front of a 2007 ezgo txt. How did you mount yours? I have a front brush gaurd but the cart has a front tap down low in the middle of the frame. I was wondering if anyone uses this tab to mount their winch on.

Are you talking about the towing tab on the axle? I think It would be easier to get a brush guard with a winch pad than to build a pad that mounts to that.

I used "The Beast" bull bar. I also built a strut from a couple of Heim joints to prevent twisting when the winch is under load or pushing with the 2" receiver. I also made a set of P.I.T maneuver push bars from a pair of rear canopy supports. This was mainly to make pushing our oft broken Ranger yard truck back to the garage for repair. Let me get on the computer, I'll link some pics...

I would think a winch pad mounted that low could be a potential clearance impediment.

you can see the small tab at the bottom. After looking at it i think it will be to low.

I mounted a plate to the tubes in the IFS using 4 U bolts. Then mounted the winch to that plate. The switch is mounted on the steering column, near the dash.

We have had a lot of customers ask us for a cart specific winch mount for the TXT. We are hoping to have this new design done in December. Here is a video link showing us testing the strength of the mounts.
