Default Happy with your lift?

I have a stock cart that I'm looking to put a 3"-6" lift mainly to help get over a curb at the end of my street so the boys can drive over to papaw's house. I worry about the safety for the kids and the quality of the ride.

Has any lifted there cart and wish they hadn't??? Anything you're unhappy with now that's its "done"?

Still on the fence and need a little nudge. Thanks!

Either Jakes' or Allsports Double A arm lift kits are the way to go, without spending too much money. They install easily and are very well made.

PS > don't waste your money on some of the others that you might find on E-bay. They do not have the quality to stand up to any abuse.
Jakes' or Allsports!

If that's all the lift is needed for...a piece of plywood is much cheaper. But if you are just telling the wife that so she will allow it Now the real question is, "what does dad want to drive over?" Jump off that fence and land on the (put a lift on) side. You wont regret it. I promise.

The choices are many, depending on what you can or want to spend. You can buy an Economy-Lift(spacer-blocks)for under $100,and there is nothing wrong with them, they work fine. There is the Drop-Axle,Spindle-Lift,and then the Jakes-style Dual A-arm kits(these can be from $300-$1000,depending on mfg,options,etc..).If you are just bombing around the neighborhood, and your "Off-Roading" is climbing a curb to cross your lawn, buy the Block kit. With a set of 22"-tires it will go almost anywhere.Hope this helps.

Stay away from the Econo Lift from Buggies Unlimited. You'll drive yourself crazy trying to keep your alignment right. The sponsors on this site all have the good lift kits that actually stay together and work great.

Pro's and con's of lifting my cart my 2007 Precedent (6" Ebay drop spinle lift and 22" tires).....

PROS
  • It looks bad ***!
  • No issues with curbs and most obstacles.
  • Slight top speed increase.
  • Did I mention it looks great!
  • Easier to perform the under cart maintenance.

CONS
  • Turning radius is horrible. I can now barely make a complete turn between the curbs of my street and need to leave more room between the garage door and vehicles.
  • In certain situations the cart gets a side to side wobble to it (especially when pulling a trailer).
  • Even after adjusting the brakes, it requires more pedal force to stop the cart.
  • When accelerating up steep hills the front wheels tend to want to come off the ground (center of gravity?).
  • Along witht he turning radius goes more steering wheel revolutions to make turns.
  • Everyone wants to drive it and I never get to sit in the driver's seat any more!

Would I do it again? Hell yeah! LOL! I might have gone with knobbies instead of street tires though..... Well, maybe...

I like it! I'm basically getting the answers I'm looking for. Doesn't sound like anybody regrets doing the lift...they just may have done it differently.
