Big Block EZ-Go Needs Better Suspension
I put a 23 hp Vanguard in my EZ-Go TXT last year and love it! It currently has a Jakes spindle lift on it which is fine, but it is really rough in the desert where we mostly use it. Looking for something that will improve off-road performance so I don't break my back over whoops and bumps. I figure an upgrade to front A-arms is the way to go, but would love to hear some first-hand experiences first. What would you guys recommend and will it get me what I'm looking for? Thanks!

The Jake's long travel will be the most economical long travel kit. Stretch Plastics is also good, although I think more expensive. Yes, either will achieve what you are looking for. IMHO the long travel kits are the single best mod you can put on a golf cart. Add a long travel rear kit and you'll be cruising smooth in the dunes!

Another IFS to look for is by Terra Toys. Although I think the TT & the Strech kits may be tough to come by any more.

A LT in the front is defiantly the way to go. I run up an down dirt roads and it Shure smoothens things out. I'm now working on some Marvin Shaw coil overs for the rear. Well see how that goes. Good luck.

Thanks guys. Pulled the trigger on a Jakes long-arm front and rear. Gonna upgrade the brakes too. Should be a lot more fun to drive now!

Re: Big Block EZ-Go Needs Better Suspension
Front suspension got here yesterday. Opened the box and inventoried everything and it looks great. Really nice stuff. Probably won't get to install it for another week, but will keep you posted.

Re: Big Block EZ-Go Needs Better Suspension
So you picked up a Jakes LT, 3 link rear too?
What year Txt & what rear suspension are you upgrading from? I'll be interested to see that. Hope you'll take lots of pics. |
