How to identify RXV HD leaf Springs from Standard
Guys,
I recently purchased a 2009 RXV that had a 6" lift kit installed. Jakes on the front and spacers on the back. It is "bottoming out" when I have it fully loaded with passengers on the rear seat. Is there a method to tell if the leaf springs are still stock on the cart? I have reviewed the HD Leaf Springs and they appear to continue to be a single spring only with thicker metal (I assume). Does anyone have the measurements for the thickness of the HD Leafspring? I hate to purchase a set of HDs if they are already installed. Also, do you recommend changing out the dampeners (shocks) also? I'm looking for some advise. |

Re: How to identify RXV HD leaf Springs from Standard
I installed HD leaf springs on my 2008 RXV. Here are the measurements on the two sets.
Original Non-HD Leaf Springs: Small End: 5.0 mm Middle: 9.46 mm Big End: 7.09 mm Heavy Duty Leaf Springs: Small End: 6.35 mm Middle: 12.10 mm Big End: 7.73 mm Hope this helps in case someone is wondering which set of springs they have installed on a used cart purchase. |
