2010 RXV lift...........
Hey we just bought our first cart. We stay on the S.TX. coast in the winter. The town, Port Aransas, has a cart license provision so we can use it on the street and the beach. I just ordered the light kit and stuff to get it street legal. After that I want to put at least a 6in. lift kit on it. I've read a few posts that said some problems were involved useing the Jakes Kits on this year model. That was last spring as I recall. Has anyone used this kit since? Are any major problems ahead I need to plan for?
Also if anyone has advice on wheels/tires ect. I would be gratefull. Is there a minimum amount of wheel offset? I noticed they come in different amounts. I guess I should stay away from steel wheels since it will be on the beach. |

I had no issues with the Jakes lift on my 09 model. The wheels I have are 3-5 offset

Cool, I like!!! That's just right for ground clearance and we need it on the beach sometimes. Where is Celina? I know I've seen that name but can't place it.......

Re: 2010 RXV lift...........
OK I'm orientated now. I'm a retired electrician from Ft.Worth. Worked all over that MetroMess in the day. Now when we're not down here on the coast we have a place on Cedar Creek Lake, down S.-SE. of Dallas. Just out of Malakoff.
How does the RXV handle with that lift? I realy like the way they set this cart up. The rack and pinion steering is one of the things that sold me on 'em. |

Running a 6" Jakes on my '08 RXV. No problems, stable at top speed and will handle all the terrian that I need. I live on Lake Travis and routinely drive along the shore amongst the rocks. Hasn't been a problem yet.
Are you installing a rear seat? |

Hey thanks for the reply MiltonC. We will probably install a rear seat later on. Right now just trying to concentrate on street legal and setup. Did you have to get overload springs for the rear when you added the back seat?

I would recommend installing the HD springs with the rear seat installation. I bought my cart with the mods already done, and it bottoms out when fully loaded. I'll be fixing that problem shortly.

I have the HD springs in the rear and have had 6 full grown folks on mine without issue...had 3 men that weighed 650lbs between them on the rear seat/platform and me(265lbs),the lady, and her girlfriend in the front seat. Rode like a champ!

Thanks for the info, I have debated installing them, but based on your comment is seems they are worth the cost.
