Lifting a Yamaha G16
I just recently purchased a Yamaha G16 2002 gas cart. I am trying to decide on how I want to lift it. I see several different kits on the market in varying heights. I don't care about getting too wild just somewhere in the 4-6 inch range so I can put some slightly larger knob tires on it. The buggy will be used primarily for riding around the farm/hunting land. For the most part I do have good roads so I won't be going anywhere too bad. Just gets a little slick and muddy at times. I don't want to buy junk, but I would also prefer to not spend a grand on a lift kit either. The guy at the shop I bought it from told me that the yamaha's will get a bit unstable when putting lifts on them. Has anyone run into this before? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Lifting a Yamaha G16
I have a G16 and have had a All sports lift and a Jakes Long Travel is on it now. I really like the Jakes a lot better than the All Sports. The Jakes ,I can set the frontend at the height I want.
To be honest with you, thinking of taking the Jakes off and put mine back to stock ride height. If you looking for a Jakes lift.... Let me know....maybe interested in selling mine.... Thanks Tony |

Re: Lifting a Yamaha G16
I love the lift but my wife and I shoot sporting clays, and after all day of getting on and off..... You are a little worn out. If it wasn't for that I wouldn't even consider lowering mine back down. The place we go really not that rough.... A lot course are paved.
Glad I did go to the Jakes tho.... A lot smoother ride than the AllSports. |

It is down in the rear of cart a little...not enough to cause any problems... Also have the Plowmans clutch on mine to pull hills.... Works great
