Default so the airshocks dont quite work

So I thought the Monroe airshocks were working great but I got back under it and realized the corner of the top plate the u bolts go through is hitting /denting in the can of the shock body.
So im prob gonna try the reg Monroe s . They are a lot thinner than the air shock..
To save sone time searching does anyone know the part number of the top of their head ?

Could you please post a picture of it where it's hitting?

I've been thinking of adding air shocks to my '86 DS for when there is a heavy load in the bed. One of the prior owners put a strange cobbled together lift on it and I'm not sure they'll work. My concern is that it will hit the mounts like you're describing.

I used the squarish shaped plate on top and the one with the "finger" for the shock at the bottom of the axle..
Since I noticed this "interference" problem :) I havent tried to add air. Im guessing no.

It rides great though. Really shines in grassy fields with the long travel front at speed..

All it would take to make it work is cut a new lower plate and move the shock mounting hole out a half inch or so..

I had to do the same thing when I built the links for my cart. The Monroe's are just fat enough to need to be moved out a little.

Thank you for posting the pic. I don't have that plate on mine so I might be able to get the shocks to work. You wouldn't happen to still know the model number of the shocks would you?

Cool, thanks for letting me know. As soon as I get some of my Christmas bills caught up, I'll give 'em a shot.
