Default DsZ71 next slightly modded golf cart...

Well I am planing my next build... SO, I am going to need some help with this one. I am not good at figure out sproket sizes and what not. This build will prob cost a lot more than my current build.. just hope the wife doesn't find out. lol

My next build is whatever cart I can get my hands on. drop a diesel
engine in it. slap a turbo on the diesel and make this cart 4wd.

Going to do a 4link'ish rear end with the axle from surpluscenter.com. Its set up for 4wd. Now the 4wd output on that is set up for like a chain. SO im thinking about doing a dual chain coming off of it to a gear box so I can have a drive shaft. The gear box will be build into the engine/axle plate. I plan on doing it this way so the rear end can still flex and I can still push power to the front axle. Now the specs on that axle are as follow..

Gear Ratio Forward 13.25:1
Gear Ratio Reverse 14.36:1
Gear Ratio 4WD/Axle Shafts 4.89:1

I don't know the gear ratio of the front diff yet. but once i get it and figure it out, I will need help figure out what sprokets i will need on the rear axle to the gearbox and what gearbox i would need so it will push the right power to the front axle.

I might do this in two parts, first part is getting it together and running/lifted. then 2nd part is making it 4wd.

After sitting here and thinking, and talking to a few friends I have desided to redo the drivetrain, it still will be a diesel engine, but i will be using a Polaris 500 rear end/tranny front diff, and the susp for this build. but so help me i will have a 4wd diesel golf cart. :'D

I got two questions idk if anyone has the answer for. Does anyone know if Polaris UTV axles will work on ATV diff's? and how much longer are they to the ATV axles?

I run a 2012 Ranger 800XP. I'll get you the length of the axle in the AM. The UTV diffs are different than the ATV diffs. They are larger and designed a little different. If you are looking to do a true one off ifs and irs build, I would look into a 2007 through 2010 Ranger that is being sold as an insurance salvage or watch eBay for parts. The reason I say up to 2010 is because 2011 they changed the axles in those years and they are like pencils. I have already twisted one of mine. If you want pics of the ride and diffs I can send some to you to use as reference. I also have a line on all kinds of used ATV and UTV parts that I can pass on to you if needed. I would love to see something built like a Ranger at half the weight. It would be unstoppable. I've got mine snorkeled and lifted with 29.5's. I have been steering wheel deep on nights when I've had a good supply of crown and some days when it just feels right!

question, if anyone can answer it.... Ive been lookin online, and I can only find the gear ratio for Foward H/L and Reverse... but nothing on what the gears are in the diff's... trying to figure out the gears for the front diff of a Brute Force 750, or Polaris 500.... is it just a 1.1 *i think thats what it is* where whatever the rear and or tranny puts out it puts out?
