Default 2004 CC lift help

I bought a allsport 6'' lift for the Club Car and having issues. The steering and the tie end bar are both to short. The steering is at center with two turns left and right. Whats going on with this and did anyone else have the same issues? The steering is about 3'' short and the tie end bar has about two threads and that's it.

I've never had an issue withe the rod that connects left and right.

I usually make a new pc for between the rack and the tie rod as it is too short in my opinion. I usually start with the heims turned all the way in and adjust from there.

Not too sure i'll b buying another one...

Did you find a solution to your tie rod being too short? I just ran into that also. I've started looking for one maybe a couple inches longer.

im having the same problem i am going to cut drag link and add a adjuster in the middle of it ,cut it in half and weld a nut on each side then add allthread with two nuts to act like jam nuts.

Apparently no one sells any longer than stock 19 and about 3/4 inches. So looks like the fabrication direction is the only way to go.

So this is a problem that just started showing up in the last year or what have people with an all sport lift kit down in the past? I know there are crafty people on this site but not everybody can fab stuff up when they need it.

Not to jack the thread but I got a bushing kit to redo my front in my ’02 IQ and I had a really hard time getting the spindle back over the new bushing. Beating it and using a c-clamp for a while got it to where I could see through the outside 2 holes and the bushing but I noticed the metal bracket at the bottom of the spindle was pushing out a few degrees both ways to fit over the too large bushing and the bolt would not go back in due to the angle. I disassembled it, dremeled about .100” off of it, put it back together a bit easier and it bolted back up.

I know not everything is as easy as they make it look on Saturday morning car shows for swapping parts but dang the small guy at home with limited tools should be able to order a kit and install it would having to make a piece custom.

I bought my 6" Allsports SS lift in January this year and it looks identical to the OP's. I didn't have the issue he's having.

Maybe it a problem with the tie rods being too short, not the adjuster bar. Were tie rods ever replaced on these rigs?

Most likely your new kit widened the stance of your cart, making your steering mounts farther apart and your tie rods too short. The most simple remedy is to remove your tie rods, cut them in the middle, and find a bolt that fits snug inside the tube, get that size bolt by however much you need to lengthen it +2 inches. But the head off the bolt and insert 1in of the bolt into each piece of tub and weld them stable. This could also be done with cold roll steel if you have access to it and can find a size that fits well in the tube.

I had to lengthen mine when I widened the axle on my marathon, I went to a machine shop to see about having a new, longer, piece of tube milled out and tapped to the threads of my ball joints and they wanted $180...so I opted for the 0.75 and hour of my time option.

Hope this helps.
