Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
Just got the Allsports SS 6 inch lift I ordered for my electric cart. When I did an inventory of the parts, I noticed that there where only 2 ubolts included in the box. I could swear I read somewhere on the forum that they changed the plate and were including 4 ubolts and the top plate to mount the shock to. All I received was 2 ubolts, 2 strips and the 2 blocks. I did notice that there was also instructions for a gas rear lift inside the box. Could I have gotten a gas lift by mistake or even an old stock model that has not been updated?

Re: Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
Here's the thread that I think you're talking about:
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/lifte...-arm-lift.html Being that you have a 92 CC DS, I'm pretty sure that your only supposed to get 2 U bolts for pre-97 carts, and the 4 U bolt set-up is for 97+ DS's And it's to my understanding that SS rear lifts should work for both gas and electric DS's! I'm about 80% sure this is correct, but, it wouldn't hurt to either call your lift supplier, Or wait for someone else to chime in with a pre-97 DS! (*EDIT* Tom beat me to it! ) Hope this helps! |

Re: Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
Thanks for the replies. I got the lift direct from Allsports. Parts of my order were messed up already and they are making that right but I didn't notice this issue until after business hours. I don't see how in the world the shocks will fit on there now and there are no shock extenders. I'm going to look at that thread and give them a call this morning.
Thanks |

Re: Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
That top plate is nothing like I got. I received two steel strips around an inch wide and around 4 inches long. There is nothing to mount the shock to except the existing OEM mount. I need to have this on and riding by tomorrow but it is looking like it will not happen. I went to their site again and noticed that the picture on their site has the 4 ubolts and two top plates. I'm going to call them now and see if they can get the parts to me by tomorrow.
Thanks |

Re: Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
Man it seems like Allsports needs to drug-test the kid who's packing these things up. Yeah when I only got two u-bolts I was miffed, but then the guys here pointed out that the u-bolts mount diagonal (one u-bolt per leaf). Allsports didn't, however, send me the pair of two-hole plates that mount atop the leaf springs (that the u-bolts go down through). I made them Next Day Air me those plates and a missing nut from the front suspension. They made it right, but still a hassle.
You didn't get any shock extensions? My cart is an '87 and I got 4 of them (2 per shock). I don't know what year your cart is but I would imagine you would need the same 4 as well. |

Re: Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
Mine is a 92. I swear I read on here that they changed the design within the past six months to 4 ubolts and the top plates for added strength because if some issues they had with them. I realize the bolts go diagonal but it seems that if there were 2 bolts per side with top plates it would be so much stronger.
Thanks for the replies guys. |

Re: Allsports SS 6 inch lift questions
Here's the small top plate and u-bolt on my Allsports 6" lift. It's just a small piece of steel with rounded ends and two holes in it. I wish Allsports would redesign their u-bolt plate like the one Tom Burke has on his (he has the Jake's lift). I would love to just have my lower shock mount higher, rather than use the hokey extensions that Allsports sends in their kits.
And here's a pic of what the shock extensions look like when they're installed. You get a total of four, two per side. |
