Default Trailering with or without top

Long story, but I was looking through the EZ go manual the other day and ran across something I had never read or really thought about. It said not to trailer carts over 50 mph with the top on. Now I have a lifted cart with the roof and the roof slants down a little. I would really like to trailer it in revers to get a little more clearance on the trailer (have a back seat) but not sure if wind will be a big issue. I only need to trailer it a few times a year, but it is between an hour and 4 hours each way and don't really want to have to buy a new top and someones windshield, but don't want to have to take it apart everytime either.

How do ya'll tend to trailer? I have never known of anybody to have trouble, but had never read that part either.

I've trailered my Club Car 4 hours at 65mph (a couple times~less the windshield) without any problems!
and 3 or 4 times a year, for an hour or so at 65 mph!

I've only heard a couple horror stories... but, mostly because they didn't strap their carts down... AT ALL!

I'm guessing that EZ-Go is doing their best to keep liabilities down on their side!

IMO... tow away! Strap it down well, and, IF there's a windshield... take it off!

Tops are okay if they are properly secured. Be aware that if you are driving into a 30mph head wind 50=80mph.
Windshields have always been okay if I haul the cart forward. If you choose to fold the windshield down then tie it down good.

I have large washers and nuts through the front of my roof, as the plastic was weak there. I fold the windshield down and wrap a ratchet strap around it.

We trailered Mine and Kims(G16 with roof) last spring with them sideways on the trailer 65-75mph for about 130miles each way.No problems at all,and her roof is all original, never been touched.

Gorno and I towed my cart sideways about 8 hours at 70+ mph. No problem with the top.
Windshields were in the car though

Top should be fine as long as the hardware is tight. Take the 5 minutes and take off the windshield.. If you don't strap it well and cram a dog bone sponge in between the cowl and the windshield.

Little more.. If you are going to haul it backwards, strap the seat down as well.. As a side note, I know some of the guys that used to haul for EZ-Go and they tell me a windshield is good till about 80 or so if it is forward and the seat bottoms will come off at higher speeds even when forward.. Even heard stories of roofs coming off Not good bouncing down the highway.. And no, they are no longer there
