Winch mount for CC
Thought I would share my new winch and mount. Picked the 2000# Badland winch up from HF for $65 with super coupon, may not be the best winch but for the price and what I am going to use it for..it will be just fine. I took a pc of 4x2x1/4 rect tube and welded a pc of 1/4" diamond plate on top to mount the winch. Did this first so I could mark the OEM holes for the front cowl to attach and so I could bolt the rect tube to the front alum plate for extra strength. I did cut a small rectangle out of the front cowl so the winch would recess back further. There was not enough clearance to bolt the winch to the diamond plate, so I welded it (if the winch breaks, I will have to use a cut off wheel to remove but like I said, for the price...) I also welded the rollers right to front of the winch, just needs to be cleaned up and painted but I think it looks sweet! I ran the wires and the winch actually performs very well. I am currently working on taking a 55gallon plastic drum and making a push plow and the winch will be used to lift/lower. I'll post some more pictures later...

Re: Winch mount for CC
the winch works great! here a few more pictures of the controller mounted to the dash and a few side pictures where I cut the front cowl and used the stock holes to bolt everything up...

Re: Winch mount for CC
I thought about that before welding it but I made sure not weld on the motor side, just the housing for the gears/cable. I only have a samll hobby welder (1/4" max) so maybe it does not have the power yours has. I could have spent more time and actually made some sort of bracket and bolted it down but since I had the welder out, took the path of least resistance. Welding is like duct tape for the common man!
