Ok, this is a long travel thread...so let's stick with the facts. For stability and comfort I want a long travel! So, is the Allsports a long travel or not, not knowing the "real" definition, I don't really care! It's now Stretch vs Allsports, and I think this can only be answered by a riders' personal preferences! Let's break it down, good with the bad. Stretch is $$ and from all accounts is very smooth, Allsports is more economical $$, but less travel....how much less? Stretch looks BA, Allsports looks better than an A-arm? Width of track means more stability, with less steering radius....it's a toss up left to the carter! I wish I had both so I could settle this on opinions only! If that Allsports rides like a Stretch, then I'm in, if it falls short based on what "I" want, I'll spend the $$ and get the ride I want. I want opinions based on fact (experience). Then it's left for the carter to figure out which long travel is better for their applications.....a theme which I am only "repeating" here. Ok.

BRS - This is purely an opinion/preference/application argument. It's like the mid travel vs. long travel argument with the Rhino. It's like the Ford vs. Chevy argument with trucks almost.
What will decide which is best for you will purely depend on what you want to do with your cart. Do you want to rip through sand? Or do you want to crawl through brush on a trail? If you want to do trail riding more, then I would certainly suggest the Allsports over the Strech. |

BRS, I will be sure and let you know how it rides. I drove a stretch a while back. I can't say for sure or not but I think the tires were pumped up hard. I thought it would have rode better than it did and the allsports may be the same, who knows.
The allsports may have less travel than a stretch but that is not the question here. Someone made a comment that it was NOT a long travel based on their "opinion" of what a long travel is. It is not the same as a stretch and thats fine. Its like comparing apples to oranges. They BOTH are fruits but not the same kind of fruit. There has been only 1 person to say it IS NOT but everyone else says thats not true. |

This has been an entertaining thread!!! It reminds me of the "How big does it have to be to be considered a BIG BLOCK" discussion from a few months ago...

Well—I’ve never ridden in a Stretch equipped cart but I did install the ASK (All Sports Kit) 7” double “A” arm kit on my G2 a few weeks ago. I also installed a set of 10” wheels with 22x11x10 All Trails.
First, I would consider this kit a “long travel”. As for the ride I think it is exceptional. Better control and almost no harshness along with very easy steering, and best of all, the cart tracks great. I was a little concerned when I ordered the kit because I only had opinions from people here and they were as varied to say the least. I called and talked to Tom at CPP and went with the All Sports kit and I can tell you that I couldn’t be happier. More importantly, wifey loves the ride as well. Just my 2 cent worth. |

I have had both kits on my clubcar. I first installed the allsports long travel had it on there about a year, the ride and handling were good and I never had any failures with it, it was abused and driven over 50mph frequently. Recently I installed the Stretch kit, its far superior in handling and ride comfort, only disadvantage is the turning radius. If you do go with the allsports, get the upgraded shocks the ones in the kit leave a little to be desired.

Long travel is based on the distance from fully extended to fully compressed, and has NOTHING to do with WIDTH/TRACK. Just because one is wider than the other and may (or may not) have LONGER travel, does not negate the fact that the first kit is "Long travel". If the travel is more than stock, by a good 100%, then it is LONG TRAVEL (my opinion). There is no real set industry standard as to what constitutes long travel, so most manufacturers of components call anything that is much more significant than stock, a "long travel". If your stock cart only has 3" of travel, and the aftermarket has 8", it's LONG TRAVEL. Even though a cart is lifted a great deal, does not necessarily mean it has long travel. Most spindle lifts, and spring perch lifts add no extra travel, or no significant travel difference, since they are still using the stock suspension and only adding an "extension".
