Tighter Turning Radius?
Hey Guys,
Is there a way to improve the turning radius on my 2004 Precendent? It has a no-name 6" spindle lift with 22" tires. Ever since the change over the turning radius has been HUGE. Thanks, George |

You might be able to shorten the tie rod arm at the spindle By drilling another hole (don't know without seeing pictures) You'll need to re-adjust the tie rods for toe, and you may see a little more steering effort.

Re: Tighter Turning Radius?
I don't see how raising the cart would change the steering radius?Unless the front axle was tilted and changed the kingpin angle would have done it. As long as the tierods stay in the same holes on the steering shaft and spindles it should have stayed the same. Raising my marathon 4" didn't change anything. How was it raised? Were the tierods move out on the spindles for more clearance for some reason?

Re: Tighter Turning Radius?
Try turning in both right and left locked steering wheel and see if one is better than the other. If so you can adjust the tie rods to get it back center. It also may be the new spindles may be hitting the axle to prevent it from turning sharper. My brother's spindle lift did this on his cart and it killed the radius. I asked the manufacture about it and they said it was for tip over safety.

Re: Tighter Turning Radius?
The lift kit for the front consisted of new drop spindles and kingpins. What specific pictures or information is needed?
The steering wheel turns equal amounts left and right. George |

Re: Tighter Turning Radius?
The spindle lift has probably widened the front track by a few inches which would increase the turning radius.

Re: Tighter Turning Radius?
Take it one step further. What if the front track got wider by two feet? Think the turning radius would be affected?
