Jake's LT/disc brakes
Anyone have any pics of a cart with a Jake's LT kit on a cart with the front disc brake kit? I'm looking to see how much wider the disc brake kit widens the track width... Plus, I may be adding the disc brake kit also if I go with the Jake's LT kit...
Thanks! Tonka |

Re: Jake's LT/disc brakes
I'll be going with the Jake's LT but, I will be fabbing a little longer arms to accomodate FOA coilover shocks. I can't wait to get this cart back to my garage to start tearing it apart!!

Re: Jake's LT/disc brakes
The Jake's front disk brake kit shouldn't widen the track width at all. The factory studs are replaced with studs that mount the disc behind the wheel mounting surface side of the hub as seen in the pictures below. As for how they work, the kit does a great job of stopping my monster of a cart with 10 people on board, so they should work stellar for a normal cart!

Re: Jake's LT/disc brakes
kelly do those studs press in like factory or just float in the hubs? can you get replacements for the studs?

Re: Jake's LT/disc brakes
They press in similar to the factory studs and I imagine you can get replacements from Jake's. I found an installation instructions video on the Jake's website:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...v=iJ75FNHzUNw#! The video does a good job of showing what's involved in the installation and also what the kit comes with. My install required some custom fabrication for the master cylinder mount and attachment to the brake pedal as my rear brakes are made for a VW sand rail with stock WV drum brakes. Once I sorted that out, they work great! If anyone would like to see what I have done with my project there is a link in my sig. Kelly |
