Question on Lift Kit!
As I've posted, I'm working on my first cart. I'm going to build my own lift kit as I have the tools and enough experience to make one that will work and last. (At least that's the plan)
I have my cart torn apart. I plan on working on a lift somewhat like Pachanga is making, only it's going on my G1. In tearing my cart apart I found the smaller arms that bolt to the front axle halves bent. One only slightly and the other extremely bent. Both bolt hole areas have been repaired at one time. I'm going too build a true A-arm kit using the stock axle halves by welding in the other piece to finish off the A-arm but have a few questions. (As I said, this is the first cart I've messed with) On the A-arm ends that bolt to the frame: 1) What type bushings are in these ends? Does it have bushings like shocks and the originals, or does it have nylon bushings? 2) Does anyone have a picture of the ends on these kits or maybe something they made themselves? Any help is appreciated. And I know what some of you will say, It's much easier to just buy a lift and install it! But for the many here that have built many things and enjoy doing it, they know why I want to build my own. It's also a financial thing..... I'll have much less $$$ in the cart if I can build some of the stuff myself. Thanks again for any help........ I am enjoying this, but not as much as I'll enjoy tooling round on the cart once I get it finished. |

Re: Question on Lift Kit!
Well, I've been doing some searching and found that a lot of aftermarket A arm bushing kits are made using Delrin. I can get that type material local and then turn and drill it using my metal lathe.
So I'm learning a bit more than I knew. |
