Title with no serial plate
So i got a golf cart a while back not running with the honda 24hp and 3 link. The cart is completely custom but old and been beat to hell. The dash has been replaced as well as everything else on the cart. The issue is I have a MSO for the cart or a cart I guess but there is no serial plate. Carts in Arizona did not have to be registered a few years back but now with the big push I am trying to figure this out. I have called ezgo several times trying to get answers and cannot get a call back. Has anyone ever pulled this off? Its crazy with how many golf carts are out there with no titles or no dash boards or plates so what does one do if they find a beater and fix it up? I heard a story about a guy got pulled over with cart with no serial number an dcops tried to take it away saying it could have been possibly stolen. How can they pull that one if there is no evidence that it is stolen in the first place. Any advice. I knew the individual who had the cart and he said it was in his grandpas property for a few years before he got his hands on it a tricked it all out. I asked if it had the plate on the dash and he just said "Man I pulled that thing off and tossed it after I got a better looking piece and never even noticed it." As I said this was before the big push was to get everything offroad titled. Any thoughts guys or experiences? This is BS.

Re: Title with no serial plate
I would like an answer to this also because Georgia has passed a law requiring carts to be registered to operate on public streets. My cart did not have a serial number plate when I got it and now I don't know what to do about getting it registered if the DMV ever figures out how to complete the registration process. My cart is an EzGo, but almost everything has been changed or modified since I first started the build project.
The Georgia governor in his infinite wisdom decided that all golf carts operated on public streets must be registered and licensed just like cars. What this genius and his staff did not realize before jumping on this bandwagon is that carts don't have titles and therefore cannot be registered. Another problem with registering carts is they must meet certain criteria to comply with federal and state regulations. When we modify our carts for performance and speed we exceed the federal limits that categorize them as golf carts. Has anyone encountered this problem and found a loophole around the rules of the government. |
