Default 2013 EZGO TXT Long Travel Lift Kit Jake's or All Sport?

I have a 2013 EZGO TXT Kawasaki 13HP Limo with 14"X23" wheel/tire sitting on a 6" jakes axle lift. I do not like the ride on dirt roads and looking to get a long travel lift for a smoother ride.

I like the looks of the double A arm Jakes lift but I do not like the cheap looking chrome Chinese shocks. From what I understand the All Sport lift come mostly assembled and you just bolt it up. The Jakes kit is a box of bolts and much more time consuming to install. I admit I like the looks of the Jakes kit and would consider the Jakes front disc brake kit as well. I just think I would be less than pleased if the chrome shocks give out or start to rust right away.

Anyone have real world experience with either of these kits on a 2012 or newer gas EZGO TXT that would be willing to share their opinion? Any input would be greatly appreciated including alternate shock options for the Jakes or test ride comparisons of the two.

I went with the Allsports longtravel on my club car.
Zero regrets.
I've ridden in both and both are comfortable.
Package was complete and they even sent extra hardware.
Everything fit perfect.
I'm not that "handy" and a friend and I slapped it on in a few hours.
Seized spacers in the rear springs held us up, but that was it.
Alignment was easy to adjust.
They also have a weekend "help" line if you hit any snags.
Another + to allsports is the availability of individual parts if you break or damage something. Its my understanding that it can be a challenge with Jakes.

I'm sure either kit performs well though.

Thanks for the input! I am leaning towards the All Sport kit because its 100% made in America and seems like they have good support. How does it turn compared to before the lift? Easy to steer? Turn as sharp?

Steers fine - tracks straight.
You will lose some turning radius though.

Just ordered the Jakes long travel lift for my 2013 EZGO TXT limo. I went with the jakes because I like the look and actually had a chance to test drive one and was impressed. I also discovered that the Jakes parts are availible individually if needed. I will post pictures of the installation and a review of the performance compared to the 6” drop axle lift. I’m adding 1.5" spacers to the rear so it lines up with the front. I will have several components for sale if anyone is interested I will post in classifieds. I will have a complete 5" drop axle lift kit, front shocks, steering rack and possibly aluminum wrap around brush guard all in like new condition. Here is a shot of my cart as it sits now.

You're gonna love the Jakes LT. I had one on my big cart and the ride is unmatched. I loved it so much that I'll be going with Jakes again for another LT lift for my Yamaha G9.

I hope your right I am thinking about changing the stock shocks out in the back with some air shocks so I can fine tune the ride in the back. I do not like the Jakes Rear Long Travel kit or I would have used it. Part of the problem with the rear is the method used to lift the rear was not the best and allows the rear to sway some. I’m hoping the blocks that come with the Jakes kit will cut back on the sway and some air shock give me the extra support when needed; besides I wanted to add a train horn and can use the air supply for on demand ride adjustment. Just need to find some air shocks that will fit factory location and travel. Any suggestions? Did you keep the rear stock?

I found some rear leafs from a trailer supply store and they were arched too much for the stock shocks to reach. I just took them off and had no shocks on the rear.

Well I finished the Jake's LT lift kit install and it was straight forward. One thing worth mentioning is in the installation instructions it suggests you remove the front cowl completely. I was able to do the entire install without removing the front cowl. I used a right angle drill attachment with a 1/2" Uni-Bit and was able to drill the two existing holes to 3/8" and a new one in the center. Piece of cake and saved allot of time. I wouldn’t be surprised if removing the cowl was added to the directions to push people to have it purchased and installed at a dealer. I had an existing front brush guard that interfered with the brush guard that comes with the Jake's LT kit so I cut 2" off the upper bar on the Jake's brush guard for clearance on the lower a-arm's and mounted it upside down. I can still access the front receiver if needed. I had a set of 1 1/2" wheel spacers so I used them in the rear. Looks like 3" would align the rear with the from perfectly but I am happy with it as is for now. I plan on putting a nice set of adjustable coil over air shocks in the rear so I can adjust the ride on the go. I will replace the rear leaf springs with the light duty ones so I can adjust to a soft ride and use the air to boost it up when I have a couple "Cart Busters" on board. The rear lift kit Grahams Golf Cars in S.C. put on was made up by them out of 4 pieces of 1" square tubing over longer U bolts. What a total piece of crap! This shoddy lift allowed the rear axle to move and twist from the body causing sway and clunking sounds. They told me they were going to use a Jake's lift but only used the front axle drop from Jake's not the rear. The Jakes rear lift has two solid cast blocks that mount between the springs and the axle that cranks down nice and tight with no sway or clunking...Way Better. I mounted the front shocks in the third hole down on the inside for a softer ride. This gave me a 6" lift and is level with the rear. I clamped a pair of two foot levels to the hubs to align the toe to 1/8" and the camber was set well from Jake's. I will put the lift through its paces this weekend and see how it performs on the bumpy dirt roads. I tested it around my yard and on the street setting the steering wheel straight and it seems to be a huge improvement over the stock suspension. Here is a couple pictures of the install and final product.

Here is a couple more. I need to clean her up now. With me sitting in the cart all four wheels were still on the ground. The top brush guard is 1/2" lower than the fender and the tire will hit it before the fender.
