Default lifting a cart will make it go faster?

hey guys I have read before that lifting a golf cart will make it go faster. I'm sure it won't be alot faster but maybe it'll edge in front of my buddies stock cart I guess. so my question is -

is the "faster" combo with a 6" lift using a certain tire height? say maybe a cart with 10" rims will probably go faster than the 12" rim, and I'm assuming with the 12" I'd have a bit taller tire.

and would that mean if I have 22" tire and my buddy has a 25" tire... will I be faster since we both have stock 48v club cars?

or does it just depend on how well I've greased the front end? ha ha

you don't want an agressive tread

Lifting a cart will not make it go faster. The larger tire size is what gives most a few more MPH. When I say "most", some people spend all their money on show but not go.....the motor or engine has a harder time pulling a larger tires. You could actually go slower if its not running right.

Rim diameter does not matter, the only thing that matters is the tire diameter.

there are only three thing that will make your cart run faster period! engine rpm, rear end gear ratio, and tire size. lifting the cart will not make it go faster.

lifting it will help improve tire size though, bigger tire equals bigger rotating mass equals higher speed. Just my 2 cents.

every 12 or so revolutions of the engine = one revolution of the tires. (final gear ratio varies) so if you turn a tire that has a circumference of 28.16" (stock 18"tire) you will move 28.16 inches forward for every revolution of the tire. but, if you turn a tire that has a circumference of 36.11 (23" tire) you will move 36.11 inches forward. (approx 25% increase in speed) the trade off is that you will lose torque.

To many people ask me that question before and I didn't have an answer for them. So I went home and that was the first site that popped up on a Google search.

No prob glad I could help!
