Default Help. Cart shakes crazy when coming to a stop

Just got done installing a Jakes 6" A-arm lift on my 94 club car ds. Everything seemed to go ok but now when I get on the road it seems as I hit the brakes and come to a complete stop the carts rear and even the front start shaking badly. Could it be the rear brake cable which seemed to get a little tighter on drivers side after the leaf sprink hike. The wheels spun a bit when I tested them. When riding doesn't feel any different but when coming to a complete stop all hell breaks loose any ideas what I should check?

probably need to adjust cable a little
recheck all nuts and bolts for tightness
lug nuts too

Yeah it's odd I will check cable. The odd thing is is the shaking happens in the last second of when the cart comes to a stop. If this was a gas cart I'd say it feels like a clunky engine about to stall out when not in gear.

What's best way to check for healthy break cable?

jack up cart (rear) apply a little power , do not give full power it is bad for motor
then apply brakes while maintaining power it should stop wheels smoothly
if it grabs fast adjust it out a little
cable adjustment is under cart drivers side

Yeah I found a little stomper right under the brake peddle that controls tightness of cable depending on where brake peddle is. It's like a rubber thing that can be screwed forward or backward to allow less tension on cable I think. So I screwed it up a little allowing cable to breath more. Well see what happens tommor on next test run.

I would double check the u-bolts on the rearend, they may be just a little loose and are causing the rearend to "spin" when your stopping.

Yeah I thought of that too but I checked the rear end and don't see that it shifted any , but today I will take a wrench to it and see if I can squeeze more on those U -bolts. How would it spin though wouldn't the motor get disconnected or something?

it wont fully spin, but end up ricking back and forth some and cause a shudder. I had to tighten mine and finally replaced the nuts with nyloc nuts so they wouldnt back off.

Ok adjusted the tension on brake cable and tightened up the U bolts. Also discovered I forgot to put back a lock nut on one of the leaf spring eyelet holes where the bushing is. I remembered that I lost the nut during install late at night and said I'd find it later but I guess I forgot. The bolt never popped out of bushing during last test ride. So found nut and tightened that up too. Took her for a spin and low behold very very little vibration while breaking but stops fine. No more crazy shake. I think part of the vibration noise now is due to rear seat adding a little rattle where flip is attached. Might have to get gasket to dampen it.

Here is the final product. All done by me.
In two weekends.
