EZGO Long Travel and front brakes
Not satisfied with the Jakes 6" spindle lift, and now looking at the Long Travel kits. I like the Jakes because it has the receiver hitch built in. I need this for my winch. Are the other LT's adaptable for recievers to put winch in?
Also looking to put brakes on the front at a later time. With the Jakes kit, I have to use my old spindles (if I'm correct), which brings me to my next question: Is there a way to get a brake kit on factory spindles? Could I use the Jakes 6" spindles and possibly adjust the height out on the plate? Thanks In Advance |

I just finished a Jakes long on a 2007 txt. I called Jakes and they took great care and technical answered all my questions. I ordered my kit with spindles that have brake mounts on them for the same price. Check the kits on there web site. I ordered 2001 and up electric.

Re: EZGO Long Travel and front brakes
Beach, I talked to Jakes twice on the phone today and the person I spoke with said I had to use my old spindles, much less even offer what you just said. Maybe she was new....
I would need LT Kit 6210. They do show the LT brake kit, but doesn't cover the kit I would need. Mine is 3 bolt old style steering. |

Re: EZGO Long Travel and front brakes
I got confirmation from one of the technical guys at Jake's. I'd need kit 7215, and he assured me there would be plenty of brake cable with the Long Travel.

Your going to love the brakes and there is plenty of cable, I only wish they had a 4 wheel set up, then just one master cylinder. I did my upgrades in stages, stock drums to auscos mechanical disc then Jakes hydraulics . with both I can stop on a dime. With the added weight the cart has from long travel brakes are a must, especially at 30 mph. You will get awesome results in driving and stopping with the Jakes. Good luck on your mods.

Re: EZGO Long Travel and front brakes
I don't really know. I was concerned more with the fronts, but I did run across some rear disc kits that looked good.
