Default 1989 ezgo marathon gas diy 6" lift up and dirty

1989 ezgo 3pg
previous owner added "custom" racks and paint job
I got it running added a tow hitch for small trailers and I am now working on lifting the old girl 6". So far I have the front lifted. I still have to make a braket to attach the shock back to the axle. It is not pretty but the lift cost as much as the golf cart did. $0.00. Just a little work to get it done.

before

today the front done besides shock.

I got the rear lifted today and installed some 22x11x8 tires on the front and used some polaris wheels that have 25x11x10 tires on them on the rear.

I'm thinking about doing some sort of filler panel on the front or taking the rack completely off of it. The front is stout but pretty ugly. I thought about using some flat sheet metal I have and reforming a square almost jeepish front end on it.

I haven't taken any yet but I used 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 square tubing 4" long, welded a flat piece of plate steel to the top of the square tubing for the spring to rife on then I uses some round tubing that will fit inside the spring to hold the spring in place. I welded the whole assembly to the top on the old coil spring perch. I still have to extend shock mount to keep it all together if the wheels were to leave the ground. I have attached a crude Microsoft paint diagram

While testing the new tires and lift my friend and I found an old deer skull and some bones. We thought it would fit right in to the front of the cart.

The one backed up to the shop is a 53 jubilee. the one toward the highway is a 901a high crop. I can't remember the year. the 901's engine is going into the jubilee. The jubilee was ran low on oil by the previous owner and locked up. The 901's clutch basket is broken due to being rusted together when someone tried to split the tractor they broke it. The 901 is going to cost too much to repair so the engine from it will give the little jubilee a bit more power than it had stock. 134ci stock I think the 901 had 172ci engine.

Default Almost done 6" lift with shocks and new camo paint job.

Well today I finished it up for a little while I think. I installed some coil over shocks from a Suzuki dirt bike on the rear and just extended the brackets to the original front shocks. I also bought 3 cans of camo spray paint army od green for base coat, earth brown, and black I alternated overspraying leaves, pine needles, weeds, and cedar twigs. I think it turned out ok for $12
