Default G9 lifted, back tires hit on bumps. Any ideas?

Hey guys, seems like the design of the G9 puts the front of the rear wheel arch pretty close to the tire even with a big lift. Anybody tried any trimming to take care of this?

I would do my best to trim it. If not, some guys make mounts to bring the swingarm back a couple inches...

My lift isn't that big and I am running 22's but I have some big friends and co-workers that will ride with me so I plan to trim the black metal rocker panel to give me some more clearance there at the back tire.

I was thinking the same two things. I would check for trimming possibilities first because that would be the easiest solution. However, since I like customizing stuff I would look into relocating the rear axle further toward the rear of the cart. I'm not familiar with your model of cart, but I'm sure there is a way to reposition the rear axle so you can get the clearance you need.

I'll be starting my cart build next weekend and I'll be moving my swingarm down 6 inches and back 4 inches. I'll be able to clear 27" tires...

You can remove the end-cap on the rocker-moulding,trim the rocker-panel and moulding, then reinstall the end-cap.That will give some room,You may have to trim or remove the inner fender-wells too.The relocation is the best way, move it back about 1-1/2"-2" and leave everything else alone.Hope this helps.

Yes. I had to cut slits in the wheel wells and wire/ziptie them back so they did not hit the tire (front of the back tire). Also cut about 1.5" off the rocker, up to the support I think it was. My cart is not lifted that high and on 22s but I hauled dirt in the box sometimes and it would rub. Its pretty overloaded if it rubs now. I also made shock mounts with multiple holes to change how hard the shocks are. My cart is 18" to the top of floor from ground.

I will try this right away, seems like the easy solution. Thanks for all the input everyone!

I think moving the swingarm back looks better

I would have to chop off the bumper mounts to clear my tires if I moved the arm back, but agree its a better way to do it. I was going to, I like the bumper and can easily weld it back on anyway, but when I put the clone in I was too pressed for time as usual and didn't do it. Likely other things would have to be adjusted such as my lift and cables/etc. Moving it back you also drop the front of it down some to level the engine/trans and that is a better setup.
