Default First cart

Wanting to build my first cart to be comparable to the beast, http://www.beast48.com/Beast-48.html. I have a feeling I can build it cheaper than what they are asking for theirs, but don't know where to start. As in what cart to get for the platform and build from there. Any advice for a new guy?

Thanks in advance,

Calvin

I'm sure you can do it cheaper, plan on spending about $3500 or so on upgrades, between a new motor, batteries, controller, larger cables etc. Tires, wheels and lift kit can be found in a package deal for around $1000 give or take. I recommend sticking with Carlisle or other NAME brand tires, the no name tires are JUNK! Really I'd look for an EZ Go or Club Car that's fairly new and go from there. If you read their description they even say they start with a USED ezgo cart and build it up!

I would go with a club car for the aluminum frame, no rust

Also I've been told series motors are the best out there other than the cost to get the performance your looking for may be a bit more thane the newer carts, I'm running 26" tires and doing 30mph on the flat.... Pulls hills good and haven't found a trail in the woods that's stopped me yet!

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a buddy that has a beast he would sell me for 4k, just won't be long before it needs batteries. I might jump on that one.
