Default What lift!?!

I have a 97 ezgo txt that I bought with a jakes spindle lift. My question is I see that there is many different styles of lifts how do I know which one is the one to have. My cart is pretty ruff riding I didn't know if other lifts would help with this. Thanks

What are you using the cart to do? Do you do much off-roading, or just ride the streets? What size tires and wheels do you have?

image.jpgI use it for running around the neighborhood and running around at the lake property which those two places are pretty much on pavement the whole time, but I also use it for golf and that is where the ride is the roughest I live in south west oklahoma where it's hot and dry and and our courses are nothing like the tv. I was wanting to try and find something that don't ride so stiff and can take the ruts a little better.

First you will need to determine your budget for a new lift kit. I'm not a fan of spindle lifts, but that's just my personal opinion. Considering you spend most of your time on pavement you will not really benefit from a long travel kit. You could browse the site sponsors for a drop axle kit that will provide some lift for height and tire clearance. Since you are mostly pavement pounding I would not go with a lot of lift. You will want to keep the center of gravity lower for stability. I have the All Sports High 5 lift kit with EzGo HD springs front and rear. I do mostly off-roading with my cart, so I have done some mods to my suspension to accommodate my riding style. I'm going to post a thread on here about my front mods, but might keep the details basic since we are considering building a bolt-on kit to sell.

You have a good looking cart, and since you use it for golf you don't want to go too extreme with the suspension. I have been very satisfied with my All Sports kit, and they have excellent customer service. The Jake's kits are comparable, so it comes down to best price at the time of purchase or personal preference. Be mindful of tire size when comparing kits, stick with the tire size recommended by the manufacturer. Most kits are bolt on and are simple to install with basic hand tools.

If most of your travels are on pavement no lift will give you a really soft ride. A long travel may be better but it comes down to tires more than anything. Have you tried lowering the pressure a little ?
