Longer Brake Cable and All is Good
Hopefully i can save someone the trouble i just went through. I put a 6 inch lift on my 2009 Precedent and as a result, the left brake locked if I applied anything more than very light pedal. I read a bunch of posts about brake adjustment at the equalizer, driving in reverse and braking, moving the cable clips, etc. I tried them all ( except flipping the backing plates, darn stubborn snap ring).
The fact is, the left cable is just too short once the axle is moved down and back. As your cart slows almost to a stop, the axle pivots forward, stretching the already tight cable and inadvertantly pulling the brake lever. If you have the same problem, do yourself a favor. Just buy a right side cable and install it on the left side. I guess there is a Club Car tool to remove the cable housing from the frame but I slipped a 13mm box wrench over the end of it to depress the claws and was able to wriggle it free. Hope this helps someone. |

Re: Longer Brake Cable and All is Good
I'm preparing to install a Jake's 6" Double A-Arm on my 2007 Precedent Gas. Thanks for helping this novice to avoid an issue.
