Question Jake's 6" A-Arm - Is it?

The new (purchased at normal retail price from a Sponsor) Jake's 6" Double A-Arm lift kit for our Precedent arrived on the porch today. I'll be scouring this forum for tech tips and videos as to how to install it, as well as the HD rear leaf springs I also bought.

However, my first thought was, "How do I know this is REALLY a Jake's kit?"

The box has a Jake's sticker on it, the bag holding bushings says Jake's on it, and one of the A-Arms has a sticker on it. But none of the parts are stamped, and but for the sticker on the box and one A-arm, and the label on a bag, how I would I know for sure who made it?

As mentioned, I'm new to carts, but I'm not new to certain items imported from China being inferior to those made in the USA. The parts look good, and I'm not saying anything against the supplier, but who can point me to something specific that will differentiate it from a different manufacturers parts?

Thank you.

Nope. Don't need to call them.

I'm convinced it's an actual Jake's kit because...the instruction are horrible. However, I finally got the front portion installed!

Following an Internet search, I located a Madjax video. It got me halfway, but it seems as though Madjax might assemble the spring and lower a-arm based upon the video and I had to rely on the crappy installation copies. The Jake's kit was entirely in pieces, but everything was there.

I still need to adjust Camber and toe-in (both are WAY off and I'd appreciate any tips), but I'll wait until late tomorrow to tackle that and to install the rear springs.

BTW, when adjusting for toe-in, should I adjust the driver or the passenger tie rod? Does the other adjust the centering of the steering wheel?

One spindle and one a-arm had lousy internal threads, and I did not have the proper tap. I cleaned and greased, and I feel OK as to how it worked out.

All in all, it wasn't too bad and the quality really does seem good (though I have nothing to compare it to).

Thanks for all of the advice.

You turn the steering all the way one way, then count turns all the way the other way. Then turn back half way, that is the center steering, you set the tires straight there, the wheel should be straight too. You turn the tie rods as you need, to toe in you turn both to make the rods longer (providing the rods are behind the spindles). If the wheel is off you turn both one shorter one longer, etc. If you need to change the toe and the wheel is off center (when you drive it) then you might turn one rod.

Rep I agree Jakes might have the best kit as most people say but their instructions re terrible maybe they should hire Madjax to do their videos for them. Almost $400 and black and white pictures that you can't read. JMO
