What cart to buy next?
I've come to the realization that I'm putting a ton of time and money into a s****y 33 year old cart, so I think I'm going to find myself a newer one and have 2 carts! Sounds like a great plan huh?
My question is: What do you think is the least expensive to buy and has the most potential? This being my first cart, I'm not too savvy on the other options out there. I know I like the look of the Ez-Go Workhorse but that's about my only opinion. I don't plan on baja'ing it so I don't think I really NEED A-arm suspension, plus I think A-arms really complicate lifting. (Keep in mind I fabricate 99% of my parts) It's really just for around the ranch, beach, and offroad park when I'm too worn out from the bike. Basically I want something newer, that's easier to find parts for, that has a gas motor, and is easily/cheaply modified. Where's the happy medium guys? |

Umm, why do you want something newer that's easier to find parts for if you change it all anyway?

True haha but the little stuff that im not changing is a bitch to track down. Plus if its possible I wanna find one thats got the stupid epa sticker on the motor so I can register it on the street as a low speed vehicle.

Yup...I'm surprised they haven't banned gas/diesel motors altogether yet.

On the mustang site I used to be apart of the cali guys were always bitching about the ridiculous emissions they had down there. It simply amazes me the standards they have down there and the rest of the country is expected to follow it.

Re: What cart to buy next?
Find a gas cart with a bad motor so you can do a clone swap. As big as you like to build them I'm sure you'll be needing a little more power than stock. A ezgo txt can have the workhorse nose put on if it doesn't come with it. Nose isn't too easy to find though.

I think buggies unlimited sells them but they are dang expensive. I thought about putting one on my cart until I saw the price tag.

Re: What cart to buy next?
Ill keep an eye out. I'd really like to put the Buell motor I have in something...but a buddy of mine was looking at the frame of my marathon and said it was probably a bad idea to put that much torque in one. Maybe ill do a full tube buggy type of deal for that later one. Ill look around for a TXT.
Yeah I saw when I was looking for a newer cowl to put on my marathon the workhorse ones were like $500...F that. Guess ill just cruise craigslist every once n a while and watch for somthin blown up. |

That's what I do, it seems like my craigslist has slim pickings though.
