Default slow down cart and add bigger wheels?

I have a 2004 ezgo gas cart. Stock setup. Since I use it on my wood lot for tooling around and my grand kids like to drive it, I would like to lift it and add bigger wheels for added clearance but I would like to gear it down to get the power back from the larger tires and slow it down some for the kids. Is it possible or shoukd I just go out and buy a side by side with low range?

Thanks for any info you might have.

Pete

You didn't say which drive system it is..... see chart.
Some controllers have speed limit settings. So you can enjoy higher torque for bigger tires and limit top end speed.

Just sent one to a rancher in WY who had to upgrade a PDS for the hired help but didn't want the help going 20+ mph

Well he said his cart was gas not electric, so those wont work for him. Besides putting a throttle limiter on it not sure what you could do.

O shoot - caught speed reading again.
Yes some sort of linkage limiter or block under the peddle will work.

Stock gears are 12:1, there are 15:1 gears available to increase torque and reduce speed.

Thanks guys for the inputs. I was afraid there wasn't a good solution. Throttle stop might work but it might limit low speed torque too. Sure wish there were gears for this version...
