Default Let's talk coilovers!

Where are all you veteran builders sourcing your coilovers? My thoughts right now are to use a used set of front coilovers off a banshee 350 or similar since they sell on ebay for around $30 a pair. My problem is I want more travel, and I'm not sure if they will handle the weight.

What are your opinions? What have you guyes used?

This is a low dollar build so please don't say king coils lol

Thanks guys!

Ok, thanks...Ive been looking at air shocks as well, it looks like you can get longer travel at a much lower price...I dunno what to do, Suspension confuses the crap outta me.

Rear shocks aren't a big deal with a solid axle in the rear. I will be running FOA coilovers on the front of my cart.

Avoid those. I bought a set and were crap. I actually think the reservoirs are fake. I tried adding air to them and it made no difference. I ended up using Fox Podium shocks off of a Polaris predator four wheeler.

Those look like crap lol and only 13" long, my rears need at least 20" I don't want to have huge shock mounts.

Good luck finding 20" coilovers. They are out there, but not from an atv. You'll likely have to go with sand rail shocks, and they are like $1500 a set. You'll be good with some high end Works brand shocks from a YFZ450, they are $550 a set, very tough and durable, they will be in the 16"-17" range.

You can go with stock Suzuki LTZ400 front shocks, they are 16" and will run about $100 used in good condition off fleabay.

How much travel are you looking for?

$1500 a set for sand car coilovers??? I don't have $1500 in all 4 of the ones on my sandcar... 20" coilovers will be over 45" tall from eye to eye. I will be using 8" stroke coilovers on the front of my cart. If you check FOA's website, you may find some competetive pricing. I will be doing alot of sand dune riding with my cart along with my sand rail. So, I want a smooth ride to where it will not hurt when I jump my cart... Keeping peeking on Ebay and you will find a set that you are looking for!
