Default was this a good winch?

My winch just arrived today And I was wondering if it was a good enough to pull out of mud holes and stuff, not pulling anything except my cart out. Well its a MasterLock atv 1500LB winch. http://www.masterlock.com/products/p...5AT&showquiz=0 My cart is a stock Yamaha g14 with jakes 6 inch lift with 22's. Thanks, Matt!

As long as you're not buried frame deep in thick mud it should work ok.

1500 lbs is a very light winch. Use a snatch block and extend cable as much as possible during use for max power.

The length of the cable doesn't really affect power, but using a snatch-block and doubling the line back to the cart will double the pulling-power of the winch, and put less strain on it as well.

Also, make sure you have a good battery.A small or weak one won't last long, then you will be stuck, even on dry ground.

The winch will only have it's rated power on the first winding of cable. Every winding of cable after the first one reduces the pulling power.

safety tip : throw a blanket over cable , it breaks and snaps back it can kill , blanket will deaden the line
