Default My 92 Marathon Custom Suspension

This my 92 Marathon Front Suspension, first attempt at front suspension using a leaf spring. I think this will work good to strengthen the front axle for rough terrain.

Im working on something similar, but dont have the lower control arms finished.
I used the older springs due to them being longer. my axle was bent, so i cut it apart and widened, as well as added 8". I welded 3" spacers on the pitman arm, etc to gain back some steering. i added heim style joints to all of the steering. the issue im dealing with now is some things interfering with each other. im going to heat and bend the steering arm up about an inch, and my lower control brackets are still in the way, so im going to have to build some more brackets that drop a little lower.
mine is a newer marathon (different style axle).

FYI, I hit a lot of cart shops here and there, Most have those front axel sitting around from the shops selling and installing lift kits, I have gotten 3 of them free of charge as they had a pile of them about to be thrown out, (I cut the spindles off them to put on trailers) wanted to run the same wheel/tire on trailer

What about DOM tubing for spacers and Grade 20 bolts.

I used heavy wall tubing for my steering.
I think one of my steering arms is bent, so im going to bend that up out of the way for now, and see if it will clear.

I wouldn't worry about using anything over a Grade-8 bolt(10+ would be overkill on a Monster-Truck,let alone a cart). My only concern would be that the angle of the radius-rods to the axle seems too flat,I think under compression, its' going to pull the bottom of the axle rearward, increasing negative caster, and increasing steering effort.I built a 5" drop-axle almost 6yrs. ago with nothing other than some gussets to reinforce it.Its mounted to the cart just like stock, and I slam it into fallen trees to jump them, and its' still working fine, and its' still straight.I cut my steering-armjust out from the upright tube at the footwall, and dropped it 1" with a piece of solid square-stock,and moved it ahead as needed too. Then just welded it all back together. You can buy tie-rod tubes for racing from Speedway Motors pretty cheap, they are sold per-inch in length, and they are tapped left/right-hand thread already.Just add Heims and install.Hope this helps.
