Default Check out this junk

I have somehow ended up trading a 95 Toyota T-100 for this pile of rust.....

Lets back up, My name is Billy. I'm 30 and live in central FL. I am a part time Police Officer, its mainly just a hobby, and a full time Emergency Vehicle Tech. I get to play with big ole fire trucks and build sweet police cars for a living. I am married with four kids and we live on 5 acres of flat land. That's pretty much me in a nutshell.

Now back to the cart thing, pile of junk. I let a buddy's son borrow my T-100 with 300,000 miles on it and he decided to total it out. Well in trade I ended up with a frame and running gear for a 1980'ish Kawasaki Mule. A big pile of crap. I got it to the house and it sat on my trailer for two days before a co-worker just had to have it. Well he had this Golf Cart for trade and I said why the hell not?

So after stumbling upon this forum, reading it for a few weeks, then signing up and getting the full effect of pictures I have decided to take my 12 years of experience building police cars and toying with hot rods and dump it into this little pile of rust.

I spent a few days reading Cert Envy's thread, I learned some new tricks to try on my police builds coming up this year! That is an amazing cart for sure.

Well here is the beginning and I hope to add some character to the cart that hasnt been done before, like the man Envy. I am going to incorporate lots of Police Technology into this cart and I think you will all enjoy the final results. (Hopefully in less then two years like it took Envy)

We do have that haha, and no shop. Dont mind the single wide Mobile Home in the background of some of my pics. We will be building a house with a 30x40 garage, hopefully breaking ground next month!
The Denali is her gift for having 4 children. Bought it brand new last year. The Camaro is a 2010 2SS with a few mods that she bought me last month for my 30th birthday.

Now that I have gotten the attachments down pat. Here are some starter photos as to what I am dealing with.

My plans are as follows....
-The Camaro is getting all red lighting, red halo's, strobes, interior lighting, etc. The golf cart will match the Camaro as far as black paint, red stripes, and red accent lighting
-I have 4 kids so we must stretch this sucker, I will be adding 3' to the "new frame rails".
-I like Envy's IPad idea and actually already have a flip down roof mount deal that I am going to install.
-Integrate all the controls (12v) into Apple IOS bluetooth to where I can control everything with the IPad or my IPod (as it is in the Camaro)
-I have already purchased a Jakes lift kit and will be installing it along with all new springs, HD for the back
-I need help selecting a controller and possibly a motor. I am going to convert it to 48v and would like to get at least 25 M.P.H. out of her.
-I am not spending $600+ on a body so I am going to fab a custom body out of either aluminum Diamond plate or just plane 1/8" aluminum. Haven't decided yet. I do have a 2012 cushman cowl that I could use.
-custom stereo and speaker system
-custom aluminum roof with a sun roof to match my other vehicles.
-14" wheels
-custom dash
upgrade steering to newer ez-go rack and pinion system. I have all the ingredients I am just not sure how it will work yet. It will give me more room for my dash
-flame thrower exhaust tips for when we do the Old Town cruise ;)!
-relocate and possibly reinvent the throttle deal. As long as the ohms are right and it communicates with the other electronics I think I can make it work......
Thats my short list for now......

4 kids is a handful, but wouldn't trade them for the world, well maybe for a ride in the Daytona 500....

Maybe you should take your proposal to her? Mine only wanted two, but ooops!

I look forward to this build, will be interesting to see how it all turns out. As far as the controller goes, I, and probably. 95% of the other people on here who have built a cart, would advise you to talk to Scottyb (carts unlimited on the site sponsor tab). He can help you there if you tell him what you're aiming for and he also has cables and potentiometers (the throttle deal you spoke of) to go with it all in a kit. It's worth it for his knowledge alone.
