Default Strech Plastics LT on ez-go Tie rod problems

Long story short I bought a 1996 ez-go with a strech plastics Long travel on it. When close to full turn the tie rods hit the coil over. Is this normal? I know there are stops on there to adjust but this thing doesn't turn at all hardly now if I adjust the stops I really wont be able to turn much. The other thing the spindles have ST stamped on them I assume they are for an st350 could this be pat of the problem? do I need stock spindles?

I believe I have a full steering/suspension set up for a 99 EZGO Workhorse. I will check the storage tomorrow.

Pit, if it is the riser axle it will probably have the same lifted spindles. If it it straight it would be what he needs.

I'm not 100% sure but I think the ST spindles had more lift built in at the tie rod end connection.
As I said before I added 1.5 to 2 inches to the big heavy Ezgo steering box arm. The longer arm pushed the tie rods further which turned the wheels more.

Thanks for the info. Pretty sure it's a straight axle.

Yeah the ST spindles deff have more lift and seem to turn in more at the tie rod connection. I built a 2" spacer that bolted on to the steering arm but with these spindles it didnt help.

The set up you made should have pushed the tires further on each end of the travel, no? Where did the extra movement go?
On mine the big steering actuator that I extended (Sorry no pics on this computer) would travel bump to bump on the frame rails it passed through. This was the maximum it could travel.
